Case study: Website setup and design- Luxury hotel accommodation brochure

An owner of two luxury apartments at the 5 star Taj Hotel in central Cape Town needed a visually attractive, photo rich brochure type website that would instantly grab and hold the viewer’s attention with no navigation distractions- just smooth, easy scrolling (sideways on large screens) and a few basic buttons.

The properties are already listed on Airbnb and Booking.com with bookings controlled and synced centrally on these and many other booking portals via a locally based channel manager. But a dedicated site would allow direct marketing to his previous guests, client list and corporate accommodation and travel service providers: via email, Telegram, Whatsapp and some social media sites.

Our site had to convey the classy decor, sumptuous comfort and large range of features the accommodation has to offer in a few swipes through various image and text panels. There’s a beautiful gallery to give an overview of what’s on offer whilst allowing individual images to be clicked on to zoom in and study the details. The site adapts perfectly from large to small screens without losing any impact or usability.

Site visitors can check rates and availability and book instantly and directly with the owner. If they prefer they can click through to Airbnb and do the entire booking process there. Simplicity and visual appeal to get the message across is the site’s focus, with complex availability checks, real time bookings and online payments handed over to the channel manager or Airbnb.

Here’s the finished product: Residence 805 and 905 at The Taj

If you need a website this is a great template that is perfectly customisable for accommodation and property listings as well as businesses, artists and freelancers wanting to display their works in a graphically bold and fluid layout. Your colour scheme, images and layout would make it unique whilst retaining the key cutting edge features of the example in this post.

Website construction is a big deal that we can help you get right: choosing a great domain, server setup and hosting, email setup using your new domain, free site certificate installation (to ensure privacy for your site visitors) and getting set up with Google Places and Ad Words, social media accounts and your own blog. These are essential components that need to be implemented in your overall website building project.

We’d love to hear about your ideas for your new and exciting online presence.
